WHY IS MENTAL HEALTH IMPORTANT IN YOUNG CHILDREN?

Mental health awareness and support is necessary in childhood and adolescence as developing a strong mental health from a young age will numerous positive impacts throughout life.

There is a numerous array of internal and external factors which can lead to mental health consequences. Children who are not able to control of prevent these factors are at a higher risk of developing mental health conditions and/or disorders.


Today, there are plenty of resources which can guide a parent and child through the process of developing a positive and confident mental health.


Abstract


Mental health is the state of well-being in which a person understands his or her own behaviors and actions. Supporting mental health in childhood helps prevent development delays and other health issues throughout life. The way we think, feel, act, and cope with choices affects our mental health, and our mental health affects the way we grow and adapt throughout our lives. To better allow our children to be prepared for any obstacles, they must learn to maintain a positive and healthy mental health. This paper will discuss the aspects of mental health, specifically in young children and adolescence, as well as how to improve and develop a positive mental health from a young age.
